The property was well known to long time residents of Laurens County. It was originally owned by the late A. Mitchell Pressley and has now passed on to his family. In 1950, Mr. Pressley took advantage of the increased mobility people enjoyed because of the automobile and opened a recreation facility near his farm and house on the Reedy River. Located on the same spot as an early nineteenth-century mill, Pressley built a roller-skating rink and a concession stand for people who came to swim in the river. Pressley often hosted families, church groups, and other organizations at his facility. Pressley called the place Ekom Beach. Today, the skating rink is gone but the Ekom Beach property still has the home, log cabin type building that was once the snack bar, and 108 beautiful acres along the river.

The property is located 11 miles Southwest of Laurens, South Carolina. From Laurens, South Carolina take highway 221 South for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Ekom Beach Road and go 6.8 miles to the property at 7199 Ekom Beach Road.
From Greenville, take U.S. Highway 25 South to South Carolina Highway 252. Take the exit and turn left. Go three tenths of a mile east on Highway 252 and turn right onto Indian Mound Road. Go 3.6 miles. Turn left on Ekom Beach Road and go 3.5 miles to the property.

Auctions United has divided the property into Tracts. Each Tract has been assigned a Tract Number and an Acreage Amount shown on the plat. The property will be sold on a price per acre basis. Once a price has been established the high bidder can select a single tract or multiple tracts. The purchase price of that tract or tracts is determined as shown below: Assume the bidder selected Tract 6 containing 7.5 acres.
Example: Tract #6
Per Acre Bid of $1000 X 7.5 Acres = Bid Price of $7500
+ 10% Buyers Premium of $750.00
+ Survey Fee of $700.00 =
Contract Price of $8250.00
The high bidder can select a single tract or multiple tracts at his bid price. Once the high bidder has selected all the tracts he wants at that price the auctioneer will announce to the audience which tracts have been selected. The remaining tracts will then be offered to the audience at that bid price on a “first hand up” basis. The selection of the “first hand up” winner will be at the sole discretion of the auctioneer. This winner will then be allowed to select the tracts of their choice at the current bid price. The newly selected tracts will be announced and the “ first hand up “ process will be repeated until no interest is expressed in the remaining property at the current bid. That process will continue with additional bidders until no additional interest is expressed. Once there is no interest at that price the auction process of obtaining a high bid will begin again for the remaining properties. This process will be repeated until the entire map is sold. The auctioneer will never designate a tract. He also does not know which tract or tracts the bidders are bidding on. In Theory if the high bidder selected all tracts on the first bid the auction would be over.
The property will not be offered in any combinations or in its entirety. You are encouraged to buy multiple tracts to ensure that you purchase the tracts you want. Do not let your tracts get away !!!
