Description:

Main Home

This lovely old home was modernized several years ago when a modern kitchen, updated baths and updated wiring were added. The Randall Home is just one example of Victorian architecture in the area. At the top of the front steps you immediately notice the wide wrap around front porch with white wooden railing. The right side is screened in with access from a bedroom. Through the front door is a foyer that leads back to the kitchen. On the left is a sitting room with fireplace and an original rug that is a priceless antique in and of itself. Next on the left is a dining room with built in china cabinets on each side of a fireplace. There is a huge living room with fireplace, perfect for entertaining. The hearth is quite unique. It’s made out of an old mill stone that has been inset into a tile base. It’s a beautiful conversation piece. On the right side of the foyer is a front room Mrs. Randall used as a music room. One wall is still decorated with copies of sheet music. There is a carpeted back bedroom with full modern bathroom on the back side of the house. In the central hallway is a laundry room with washer dryer connections and a washer and dryer that will be part of the sale. The large kitchen is on the backside of the house and features a central island, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave over and standard oven, and electric stove. The rear door leads to the outside through a small mudroom. There is room in the kitchen for a small breakfast area.

A beautiful stairway with two landings winds through the central part of the home and leads to the upstairs bedrooms. Upstairs is a small sitting room and four bedrooms, one of which is a unique man cave that Mr. Randall called his “Georgia Room”  All rooms have fireplaces and heart pine wood floors. The Georgia Room is fully paneled with beautiful wood. Out back is a two-car carport with a storage room and a workshop. The wrap around asphalt driveway leads back to an old open garage and an old barn. The large back yard is fenced with a chain link dog pen. There is a covered well on the property that has about 12 feet of good water and is brick lined. The top has been sealed for safety. On the right side of the home is a large musadine vine that has yielded quite a crop over the years.

Cottage:

The 2-bedroom home was formerly the cook’s house many years ago and would make an excellent rental house. It has two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bath. Some furnishing including a washer and dryer will also be sold. The home is has central heating and air.

Personal Property

Much of the Randall's personal property has already been sold, however ther are a number of pieces of furniture, silver , crystal glassware, antique hand trucks, wine making equipment and bottles, washers and dryers, and much more that will all be sold the day of the auction.
